How to Switch to New Outlook from Classic (Step by Step)

You're probably staring at your screen trying to figure out why your email looks outdated or why your IT department keeps pestering you to upgrade. You're stuck on the legacy interface because your computer hasn't toggled over to the new app yet, but it's a simple fix to get you on the current version.

Why this happens: Your email, calendar, everything is already there; nothing moved, nothing deleted, it's the same mailbox, just a new window.
What you need: No special tools needed, just internet access to the Microsoft Store if the app isn't already installed.

Fix Steps

1. Click the search bar at the bottom of your taskbar and type Outlook.
2. Look for the icon labeled simply Outlook rather than Outlook Classic.
3. Click the Outlook app to launch the new interface.
4. If only Outlook Classic appears, open the Microsoft Store and search for New Outlook to install it manually.
5. Send yourself a test email to verify your mailbox synced correctly.
If that didn't work: If the new version refuses to open, your current Office installation may be corrupted. Run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to repair your Outlook profile.
